Chinese Houses, I regret to say not all, are massed together on the ha shore or its immediate neighbourhood, principally to the west of the Foreign residences, the highest of which up the hill side is built at an elevation of 300 fect above the level of the sea. The town has nearly Northern exposure - The immediate mighbourhood is almost devoid of vegetation. An abundant supply of excellent water vecurs on the Island_
